
About the Founder
Samoan Shields is the founder of The EmpowerHer Circle, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting the confidence, mental wellness, and leadership development of girls and young women. Her work is grounded in both professional experience in education and a deep personal commitment to creating safe, supportive spaces for youth growth and development.
Education & Certifications
Associate Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Entrepreneurship from Strayer University. Certificate in Women’s Entrepreneurship from Cornell University. Certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid, strengthening her ability to recognize and respond to mental health needs in young people.
Professional Experience
Extensive background in education working with children and youth ranging from birth to 19 years old. Experience includes supporting academic development, social-emotional growth, and life skills across multiple developmental stages.
Advocacy & Mission
Samoan is a strong advocate for mental health awareness, driven by both professional experience and lived experience. Her mission is to break stigma, encourage honest conversations, and ensure young people feel seen, heard, and supported.
